JUNE 4TH, 2010
Over the last few weeks we have experienced an increase in the number of burglaries in and around the areas of Cranfill Rd, Old Concord Rd, and Joyner Rd. Uniform officers and Detectives have stepped up patrol in an effort to combat this growing trend. In fact on June 3rd, 2010 officers apprehended 4 individuals responsible for a burglary on Darnell Rd. Further investigation by Detectives revealed that this same group was responsible for 6 additional burlgaries in Zone 3, as well as the city of Smyrna. Officers in this case were able to seize several handguns and thousands of dollars worth of stolen property.
These arrest could not have been possible without the watchful eye of concerned/involved neighbors who chose to dial 911. So please be observant, be proactive, be involved and most importantly contact police regarding suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
SAFETY BULLETIN
School's out for the summer and that means family vacations and road trips. These events create lasting memories for young and young at heart alike. It is important however, to remember a few safety tips while your family travels this great land of ours and abroad:
1. Have your mail service put on hold if you will be away from home for an extended period of time. A full mailbox is a dead give-away that a residence is unoccupied.
2. Advise a trusted neighbor of your vacation plans and what vehicles should be in your drive-way.
3. Reschedule any deliveries that would be coming to your home during your vacation time.
4. Take the time to write down serial numbers of valuable electronics and firearms and put that list in a place that you could easily find.
5. Lastly, check and re-check that all locks are actually locked and that your home's alarm system is activated prior to leaving.
These simple tips can help make your summer vacation a memorable one for all the right reasons.
Stay safe!
